This morning as I was getting ready for work, I was listening to one of my favorite songs. Today I heard the lyrics in a different way. The song says, “How can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?”
I thought about Star of Hope. Daily, we as staff are privileged to see God at work in the lives of our clients. Standing as witnesses to God’s intervention and outpouring of grace, we see the change. Here, hundreds of testimonies collide. Moms are resentful and wrestle with God. Dads are angry and resist God. Children are confused and question God. We remind our clients that the circumstances that led them to Star of Hope are not outside of God’s provision, but as a demonstration of His love and sovereignty he calls us here. Out of His great love for us, He brought us to this place. We remind our clients and we remind ourselves.
Star of Hope is filled with brokenness, and overcome by a Healer. God is present. He is at work in the lives of our clients. He is at work in the staff. How could I stand here and not be moved by God? How could I, surrounded by the transformation of lives, not be changed?
The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will
prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person.
