38,000 Bottles of Water for Houston's Homeless

“Jesus answered and said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.’” John 4:13-14

I am overcome by the power of living water as I was able to join some of the Star of Hope staff as we received a huge donation of 38,000 water bottles from I Am Waters Foundation this morning. What a blessing! As I listened to Elena Davis share her passion for serving the homeless I was overwhelmed by the Lord's heart for the poor and how incredible it is to see someone living out our call to take care of those in need, the orphan, the widow and the stranger.

I Am Waters’ mission is to quench the physical and spiritual thirst of America’s homeless through giving out water bottles with an inspirational message. Hope. Peace. Love. It is so simple and goes far beyond the help that any other water bottle could give... A word of encouragement to remind someone that they are not alone and that someone cares for them.

I Am Waters Foundation delivers 38K bottles of water for Houston's homeless to Star of Hope.

Isn’t that one of our greatest needs as human beings, to be loved? We all need water to live, but more than that we all need the living water that Christ offers us. The love of Christ is what will ultimately refresh our souls so that we can live another day and fight another fight. How much more then do we need to remind those who feel unloved and unlovely that God cares for them and will provide for even their most basic of needs!
