Baby Shower Baskets for Pregnant Mothers!

Elise and Sarah Cunningham, and Claire and Sarah Sullivan were awarded a Ticktocker Initiative Grant from the National Charity League, Inc.(NCL, Inc.), Heart of Texas, Chapter. Their project idea was creating baby shower baskets for pregnant mothers at the Star of Hope. They saw a need for this when they noticed several pregnant mothers when they were volunteering there in the fall.

The baskets they assembled include diapers, baby wipes, diaper rash cream, baby wash, lotion, hooded towels, washcloths, baby powder, burp cloths, bottles, bibs, socks, 3-4 onesies, two blankets, teething toys, nail clippers, thermometers and more. The items were all stored in a diaper pail. These donations will benefit young mothers and their babies, many of whom are 18-24 years old and have no family support.

The girls are hopeful that this will help these mothers as they adjust to their new role in life.
