Star of Hope volunteers bring a joyful light to our guests.
We need more like them.
There is a lonely man, a frightened woman or a sad child who needs a friend to listen and care.
We would like to tell you about the many opportunities to serve. One of these spots may be just right for YOU!
Perhaps it is serving meals or tutoring children or adults. Or, you might enjoy serving in our Family Store. Some of our volunteers have work experiences or hobbies others can learn to use to earn a better living, such as computer skills, cooking, and more.
Who knows! You could become a volunteer champion, like Star of Hope Board member Melody Miles, who was a finalist for the Houston Texans Community Quarterback Award. The Texans recognized Melody’s outstanding volunteer service to the homeless and needy at Star of Hope Mission.
Here Melody is, with winners from other community charities, receiving a $5,000 gift to Star of Hope. She is the one waving, third from the left in the front row. All the winners were given seats to the December 13 game and a grand presentation in front of the fans. Congratulations Melody! You are a star!
