Beacon + Star of Hope = A Better Community

Star of Hope Mission issued a mandate to the Houston community. They were in need of underwear for men of Star of Hope. Beacon Home Health Agency responded to this urgent need. Co-entrepreneurs Ricky L. Mayes & Lora L. Mayes, R.N. immediately began organizing a Boxers & Briefs Drive to collect new underwear for the men in need.

Beacon Home Health Agency delivers Boxers and Briefs donations to Houston's Star of Hope.

“We often take for granted the small things. Something so simple as having a new pair of underwear, an undershirt, or even basic hygiene items,” states Ricky Mayes. Lora adds, “Beacon Home Health Agency is known for stepping up in the community to deliver “Care with a Signature Style” to our patients and partnering with Star of Hope falls right in line with our mission and community outreach goals.

On July 28, 2012, numerous supports poured into local tailor’s shop, McQueen’s Custom Tailors, to support a worthy cause. With such an outpour from the friends, family, and fellow colleagues of the Beacon family, we are so blessed to support Star of Hope. We are pleased to donate over 200 boxers/briefs and over $300 in financial donations. Ricky L. Mayes deemed this event to very successful and has decided to make this event an annual event.
