Girl Scout Brownie Troop #9668

Brownie Troop 9668 split into two groups to provide enough snacks to feed about 450 residents at two Star of Hope facilities. They brought with them several car loads of gently used clothing, linens, books, toys and stuffed animals as well as some toiletries for the residents.

While many of these girls are accustomed to gathering items to donate or participating in fun activities that benefit charities, the hands-on service aspect of this experience and getting to actually see and meet the people who are having hard times really brought it to life in a way that nothing else has done.

They went home with a whole new enthusiasm for giving their time and their resources to others. It opened their eyes to the hardships around them and the blessings in their own lives. This was a great opportunity for them to demonstrate the Brownie mission of serving others and they had a fantastic time doing it. They realized just how good it feels to make themselves useful by doing something nice for someone else and are eager to go back and do it again! Thank you to Star of Hope for your wonderful works!

Snacks for 450 clients? That is incredible! But I bet those smiles left our clients even fuller than the snacks will. Thank you all for serving with such joy! You have richly blessed Star of Hope!
