God's Grace Moves Me to Serve

The time I spend at Star of Hope is the highlight of my week. Being in the midst of a job search, it can be easy to become focused on me and on my problems.

Being at Star of Hope each week helps me stay focused on God, and to experience the joy of seeing first-hand His grace at work. Through His people, Star of Hope is meeting the very real needs of Houston’s homeless. It is so wonderful to be even a small part of the big work God is doing here. When I’m here I know God is smiling.

My current assignment is working at Hope Center on Ardmore Street to perform various administrative tasks, data entry and other opportunities to support the important work done by the Volunteer Services Department. The people I work with are appreciative, kind and welcoming.

It’s heartwarming to be around like-minded people serving others -- unapologetically in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace, in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
