A ONE-DAY, COMMUNITY WIDE ENTREPRENEURIAL EVENT, AND WE ARE JOINING THE PARTY!
Houston’s annual Lemonade Day, on the first Sunday of May, is a community-wide opportunity to teach young people about the entrepreneurial and business skills necessary for starting and running a business.
By introducing our youth to the skills needed to earn self-sufficiency and success, they discover ways to think about their future with an eye toward producing positive change for themselves and their families.
Lemonade Day was started right here in Houston in 2007, and is open to youth of all ages. Star of Hope’s participation this year involved our older youth, and it was a joy to see them planning, producing and participating in running their own profitable lemonade stand!
“There is hope that by exposing them to these skills, we are teaching them to think differently about their future and the possibility to bring change to them and their families,” said Jeremiah Belyeu, Manager Teens & Children’s Services.
Helping teach and support our at-risk young people is crucial to Star of Hope’s efforts on your behalf to serve the struggling families and children of our city. Thank you for caring!
Lemonade Day Houston is empowering today’s youth to become tomorrow’s entrepreneurs.
