Takin' Hope to the Streets

It was getting late. The team that I was assigned to had been driving around for some time. Our supplies were low, most of our items had been delivered and we had touched so many already. At that point, we had decided to head back to headquarters. God saved the best for last because at that time we noticed a man on the concrete.

I thought he had fallen from his wheelchair because his wheelchair was cocked to the side. I turned the vehicle around so we could approach him. His name was Patrick. He had been on the floor for some time, hungry and tired. His wheel had come off the track and he was unable to repair it on his own. When I tell you God gave us the wisdom to fix that chair, He gave us the wisdom to FIX that CHAIR!

We gave Mr. Patrick the last of our supplies and a dose of compassion. He said no one ever approached him or much less spoke to him. In his words: “You are princesses of God sent to help me”! We prayed over him and he rededicated his life. Mr. Patrick did not need immediate shelter … How about that for an ending to an amazing night?
