“… Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day....” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) NIV
The story of Easter is one of love, hope, sacrifice and commitment. Jesus Christ sacrificed His life that we might live again and have a reconciled relationship with Him. The most amazing part of the story is that it doesn’t end in the tomb; it continues to this day with a Risen Savior! He lives and He loves us with an undying, unchanging love. Because of this tremendous gift, we have the awesome call and privilege to live a committed life of service to God and to His people. We are also called to minister the love of God to those that need it most. This call is the foundation for much of what we do at Star of Hope.
Can you imagine living your entire life not knowing the depth of God’s love? The thousands of men, women and children that find their way to the doors of Star of Hope are drowning in a sea of hopelessness. They are hurting, hungry and many are battling addictions. They are in great need of the Easter Gift! As a result of our many Church Partners, friends, donors, volunteers and staff accepting the call to become the hands and feet of Jesus, our clients experience the love of God first-hand. Some volunteers not only serve the Easter meal, but we have a wonderful group of volunteers that have provided brand new Easter dresses for all of the little girls for the past 5 years. This is a tremendous blessing to a mother who can’t provide for her children, and it is equally a blessing to a little girl who has never had a new dress. This is but one example of the little miracles that take place within the walls of Star of Hope every day.
This Easter take the time to thank God for loving us so, and then share the Easter Gift with someone who needs it.
