One day last fall, I was working with a group of students from Saint Cecilia who were creating door signs for clients living at the Transitional Living Center. I was impressed with the finished project - beautiful signs filled with promises from God, inspiration and encouragement. As we finished hanging the signs, a client waved us down and ran to catch up with us. With tears in her eyes and a shaky voice, she approached the group of students and said, “Thank you for the encouragement. I was having a really hard day and knowing someone cares has made it much better.”
I am very thankful for all the selfless individuals who sacrifice their time to help meet needs here at Star of Hope. But our volunteers do so much more than that! They provide our clients with praise, encouragement, love and hope for the future.
Volunteers, thank you for all you do. You are truly making a difference!
