My name is Erika Wise, Program Director for Star of Hope’s New Horizons. I accepted Christ as my personal Savior when I was eleven--at church camp. My relationship with Christ has been filled with peaks and valleys. My intimate walk with Him began nearly 18 years ago when I was hired as a Case Manager for Star of Hope’s TLC program. Since then, I have held many positions with Star of Hope and worked in THREE of its programs—TLC; Women & Family Shelter; and, now, New Horizons.
I have been able to see hurting families and individuals journey from “lost” to “found”. One of my favorite movie quotes is from the movie “Hope Floats”—“Beginnings are scary. Endings are usually sad, but it’s what’s in the middle that counts. So, when you find yourself at the beginning, just give hope and chance to float up. And it will.” My years at Star of Hope have taught me that HOPE certainly does float up and, those are the stories I want to share…
