Hope For The Homeless

Hank RushHank Rush, President & CEO
One of the most amazing things to witness is how God uses our collective prayers and your generosity to change lives. What’s more amazing is that I have the privilege of being a part of His wonderful work. When people come through our doors homeless and desperate for help, they need a new chance—sometimes a second chance—to build a better life for themselves and their families. That’s what we offer. So I am delighted to share my joy with you, and I am immensely grateful for your commitment as donors, volunteers and community partners. I hope that as you read about the day-to-day happenings and the miracles that are occurring in the lives of our clients, you will believe as I do, that Star of Hope is a place where the promises of God are realized.

When people come to us here at the "HOPE", we should find out what God is up to in their lives. The safest place for anyone is to live out God's will for their lives in the city and state He chooses.

Hank, I want to share with you one of the greatest honors i have experienced as a result of my recovery through New Hope. I was honored in the National Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Month Publication in 2005....as I look back at it today I can see that only God could have made my crooked edges straight, only he could have used my wretched condition to persuade so many to give Him a try....nothing, I and do mean nothing compares to the spiritual wisdom that comes from the God of a second chance!

Mr. Hank: I know what it feels like to have nothing and no one because that story is often told over and over.My family is so gracious for the Star of Hope and the Hope it gave back to my family. I read the story of the young lady that wants to start a ministry in her town. All I have to say to her is that God gave us the gift of help, so I'm in your corner. I myself have started going out to the group homes, taking my daughter with me to speak out to the teens and the parents of hardship. We also extends our hands out to them to help them walk in right pathway of life. See I too have no problem with giving back what was given to me when I was inside those doors. So allow God to direct your path and see how good it feels to helps someone, its a feeling that is no one can explain. God has blessed me to open a business that will be helping my fellow sisters and brothers in recovery in the month of May.
