The Journey

One thing I will never forget is being told these few but powerful words; "What God has for you, is for you." This simply meant that no matter what plans we may have set forth, God has His own plans. It is up to us accept them and allow Him to be the CORNERSTONE in our lives. The Journey I am taking is not an ordinary one, but with Christ at the center of it all, He shall be a strong foundation to stand upon.

My journey with Star of Hope Mission began June 12th 2012, with the position of a Childcare Teacher. This position was an eye opening experience, because it gave me the chance to interact with the children and parents who came to seek our help. Entering our building everyday taught me to become a stronger person for our guests who God has sent to us, seeking refuge. Although our guests walk different paths, it is no mistake that they end up reaching the same destination; at our doorsteps with hope in their hearts and a desire for healing.

I am pleased to say that I recently became the new Online Communications Specialist and I have the opportunity to see both sides of the wonderful way our mission works; from working with our dear children and parents in need, to working with our selfless volunteers and donors. Many of our volunteers and donors have seen the goodness of God and have a passion for spreading those blessings onto our guests.

Summer, our busiest season, is here. This is when we need the most helping hands to make this a Summer of Hope. Through your generous giving, Star of Hope will be able to touch a vast amount of people. You make it possible for the love of Christ to shine.

Great things are happening at Star of Hope and I strive to speak hope into the lives around me. God has a plan for us and as I continue my walk with Him, I invite you to take this journey with me!

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" - Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
