My name is Myron Cooper and I’m a Youth Worker at Star of Hope Mission. Jesus saved me at age 12 through my father sharing the gospel message to me. I have been married to Caroline since August 19, 1998 and we have four girls: I moved to Houston in June 2008 in order to attend Dallas Theological Seminary’s (DTS) Houston Extension Campus after retiring from the Army. I plan to serve again after graduation as an Army Reserve Chaplain.
I primarily serve the teens that have come through our Women & Family Emergency Shelter and Transitional Living Center with their parents. I have been serving here since March 2009 and have loved every day. The teens are challenging, but they demonstrate perseverance because they live a life of constant survival. It has been an awesome privilege to share the good news of Christ to some and encouragement to those teens that have trusted Christ but now find their families trusting God even more for the necessities of life.
